The opportunity

  • Designs, develops, and supervises processes and approaches to uphold quality standards of products and services
  • Cultivates relationships with other engineering groups to assess, recommend, and implement elaborate test cases
Your key responsibilities

  • Leads the formulation of test plans to ensure product quality, establishing project timelines, and overseeing the activities of other testers
  • Creates, develops, and backs test cases for functional and nonfunctional domains, tackling escalated issues and resolving obstacles that might hinder the testing process
  • Guides in defining the test scope, setting up the testing environment, devising test plans, identifying relevant metrics, and monitoring the necessary effort for minor initiatives
  • Oversees the implementation of test reports, evaluates and interprets suggestions for product or design enhancements
  • Specifies and reviews internal quality control standards and maintains reliability programs
  • Fosters relationships with other engineering groups to evaluate, suggest, and implement testing procedures for products, systems, components, or alterations
Skills and attributes for success

  • Extensive understanding of the testing lifecycle and agile frameworks
  • Comprehensive grasp of the IT lifecycle end-to-end (pipeline, resource, demand, project delivery, financial aspects)
  • Expertise in Quality Management methodologies
To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience
  • Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Struts, JSPs, Servlets, and XML
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • 2+ years of experience with public cloud services such as Amazon, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Solid knowledge of databases (HANA), SQL, PL/SQL
  • Experience in Cloud software development would be advantageous
  • Desire and capability to learn independently and explore new subjects
  • Ability to collaborate with the team in product design and development aspects
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills, along with a strong inclination towards working in high-performance teams
  • Various essential competencies needed include Customer Focus, Business Acumen, Innovative Thinking, Change Agility, Intercultural Sensitivity, Self-Development
  • Proficiency in identifying performance issues in architecture, Load balancers, Web/App servers, Database, Operating System, Network, Software (JAVA/.Net), and Hardware
  • Experience in testing on Windows & Unix platforms, including Clustering, LVM's, Multipathing software, among others
  • Extensive testing background with NAS & SAN storage arrays/appliance, FC/iSCSI/NFS configuration, replication technologies, storage provisioning, zoning, etc.
  • Knowledge of Jenkins for continuous integration, delivery, and automation
  • Significant experience in either internal or external test engineering roles, or similar positions
  • Demonstrated experience in customer-facing roles
  • Experience in virtual work within a globally dispersed team
  • Some project management exposure in an engineering/test environment
Ideally, you'll also have

  • Lean certification or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
