Role Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer Contractor to join our team. As a QA Engineer Contractor, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous testing and quality assurance processes. You will work with other video QA team members and software engineers to build, test, and release these video products across a variety of environments and application platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test strategies and test plans, and performing test execution.
• Designing, Developing, Executing, and Maintaining automated testing solutions that enhance the efficiency of Quality Assurance efforts against a range of platforms and products
• Collaborating with Dev/QA Engineers, Product Managers, and Engineering Managers to investigate issues and provide both functional and technical root cause analysis.
• Standardizing CI/CD and regression practices across application platforms. Maintain a reliable and stable automated uptodate Regression Test Suite.
• Documenting bugs thoroughly and monitor the resolution efforts in the Github
• Reporting on the full testing suite for both manual and automated tests.
• Working in a fast paced environment and performing comprehensive QA operations proactively, timely and accurately.
• Working with customers and internal engineers to troubleshoot issues.
• Technical problem solving

Basic Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's in Computer Science or relevant work experience
• Must have: Experience working on cloud infrastructure like AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker and Github/Jenkins
• Must have: Strong knowledge in Python(or similar object oriented programming)
• Must have: 5+ years proven experience working as a backend test automation software QA engineer
• Must have: Experience developing and maintaining Python automated test framework(or similar) and familiarity with a range of automated test strategies.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
• Experience with H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, VP9, AAC video and audio codec standards.
• Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans, test cases and test scripts
• Experience with video and audio testing.
• Solid technical problem solving skills.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience using Testrail, Github and Jira software.
• Experience working with NewRelic or similar observability platform.
• Experience working with AWS media services stack.
• Understanding of Ad insertion, encryption and advanced video features.
• Experience using ffmpeg, subjective and objective video/picture quality testing
• Experience with agile software development
