Job Description:

The position will support Supply & Trading, and Shipping organizations for North America and other international locations.

Team, located in Buenos Aires, provides support to Midstream operations by overseeing the accounting behind commercialization and shipment of petroleum products from origination sources (offshore / onshore leases) through Chevron refineries and into Marketing terminals, as well as accounting for all product traded with third parties in the Oil & Gas industry.

Team tasks are typically distributed by area and in alignment to Front Office desk distribution (to allow a fluent interaction between members).

In this position, Senior Analyst will have the opportunity to:

  • Get a deep understanding on Oil & Gas industry core activities, such as trading and petroleum transportation; as well as promoting Renewable Energies and lower carbon emission projects.
  • Get fluent on industry standards and products' flow through diverse supply systems and means of transport.
  • Collaboratively work and engage daily with front office personnel, including Traders, Schedulers and Operations' specialists, as well as North America Finance employees.
  • Coordinate/support monthend close activities and prepare information required by Management and US Trading organization.
  • Exercise/Improve communication skills to meet customers' high expectations.
  • Strive to deliver exceeding results in a dynamic business, producing timely valueadded data to improve Business' decisionmaking process.
  • Innovate, proactively explore new technologies and adopt growth mindset.

Main responsibilities for this position:

  • Collaborating in complex finance initiatives/projects assigned by leadership.
  • Delivering key financial measures such as cost allocation, expenses, and inventory accounting
  • Partnering with multiple functions and supervisory levels to provide financial analysis, oversight, execution, and coordination of a wide variety of activities.
  • Assisting with strategic direction and decision making, and providing leadership across the workgroups
  • Organize and direct group efforts with low supervision. Create a logical plan and schedule activities to meet milestones within the assigned workstream.
  • Deliver under pressure, remaining open to innovative viewpoints and involving others with different perspectives/expertise to analyze issues or define approach.
  • Refine communication and negotiation skills to meet and address customers' demanding expectations.
  • Adopt contract and system terminology to ensure independency in the resolution of discrepancies.

General oversight of activities such as:

  • Account and reconcile diverse/complex inventory facilities and systems.
  • Drive accurate cost allocation by validating and accounting for product purchase and sales, primary and secondary costs. Work out volume and price discrepancies with customers/vendors in collaboration with front offices.
  • Generate/Monitor exception reports, analyze and address variations.
  • Reconcile Payable/Receivable Accounts with 3rd party Partners.
  • Integrate traditional accounting with bots (RPAs)
  • Enhance key controls and mitigate critical risks by streamlining processes.
  • Work on projects to drive global consistency and create synergies across the team.
  • Build engaging and meaningful relationships with internal partners and external customers.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Finance or accounting degree with at least 8 years of finance/accounting work experience.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills. Effective critical thinking and fit for purpose decisionmaking.
  • Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and other SMEs.
  • Into feedback culture. Inquisitive, enthusiastic, and diligent.
  • Ability to learn on the job and go the extra mile to relate finance core activities to business model being supported.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across multiple organizational levels and diverse functions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and followup skills
  • Independent thinker and selfstarter, with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Skilled individual user in Microsoft Office suite visualization tools Power Bi, automation tools, Power App is preferred.
  • SAP experience.
