Job Title:
Part-Time Frontend Engineer

Summary:
We are looking to hire an English-speaking, front-end engineer. Must be willing to work US Central Time.

Modi is a brand new

US based cleaning company. At Modi, we coordinate with tenants and property managers to hire cleaners. We are looking for a frontend engineer to help finish up the project and get to market. The frontend engineer will review UX design mockups, provide feedback, and turn them into clean React Typescript UI components. This role will focus on the development of Modi's web based admin dashboard. Additional projects will center around UI for the brand and landing pages. We use tailwind CSS so we have no stylesheets. Our backend is completely GraphQL based and statically typed with Typescript. It is important you know how to use a GraphQL client. We like to keep our code well tested. When we catch a bug we usually write a new unit test to document the fix.

One of Modi's core principles is that everyone should enjoy their work.

To maintain work life balance we use Agile Scrum to schedule tasks that can be done in a one week sprint and try not to do more than that.

This position will work closely with the CTO, to determine changes that need to be made to the design to ensure all stakeholders needs are met.

The ideal engineer for this role is someone who can see themselves as the customer and ask "How can we improve?"

Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 9am-4pm CST

Responsibilities:

Read design specifications and mockups and provide reasonable development estimates
Prioritize work and communicate to drive items to completion before moving on to the next task
Work with the designers and the CTO to streamline overcomplicated designs
Create unit tests using Jest to ensure code quality
Diagnose and provide development estimates for customer reported bugs
