The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Software/Platform Architect to make intuitive high-level decisions for software development.

You will see the "big picture" and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide multiple Trains of development teams and architects.

These solutions will often span multiple Teams and Trains.

A great software architect has a strong technical background and excellent technology skills. They are experienced in designing and possess ability to develop a unified vision for software characteristics and functions.


The goal is to provide a framework for the development of a software or system that will result in high quality technology solutions that are fit for use as well as for purpose.


Your key responsibilities

  • Produce architectural designs for the platform being developed and communicate them with the impacted teams
  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions of desired product
  • Develop highlevel product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
  • Contribute to defining all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
  • Successfully communicate all concepts and guidelines to program leadership and feature teams
  • Oversee progress of development teams to ensure consistency of designs across Trains and overall Program
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to Team and Train Architects
  • Ensure software designs meet all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
  • Contribute to Architecture Review Board discussions to ensure solutions are well thought and adhere to standards within the program

Skills and attributes for success

  • Proven experience as software, solution, and Azure cloud architect
  • Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C#,.NET, JavaScript, Angular)
  • Experience designing messaging and eventing solutions involving Azure Service Bus and Event Hub
  • Experience designing modern cloud architectures (serverless solutions, Microservices, BPM, etc.)
  • Experience in documenting solutions to communicate designs to Architects and Developers
  • Excellent knowledge of UML and other modelling methods such as C
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
  • Understanding of software quality assurance principles
  • A technical mindset with great attention to detail
  • High quality organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 12+ years of related work experience
  • Experience working on large enterprise solutions in the Azure Cloud
  • Experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework methodology
  • BS in computer science, engineering, or relevant amount of experience in a related field

Ideally, you'll also have

  • MSc/MA in computer science, engineering, or relevant experience in a related field
