Job Description:

I)

  • Our Technical Leader role encompasses the lead technical coordinator responsibilities for the design, implementation, test and customersite startup of complex control, information, process and automation systems working in a project team environment._
  • The Technical Leader will interact directly with key internal and external contacts to validates the technical solution and defines the best project execution strategy. This position is responsible to guide the development team and determine the needed checkpoints to achieve the technical solution goals. Also, contributes to the identification, definition, and implementation of innovations, increasing efficiency and operational excellence in projects_

The Technical Leader main roles and responsibilities are:

  • Participates in the project from the budgets stage, when requested, until delivery of the scope/project sold, specifying and validating the solution, controlling the technical scope and number of hours spent by technical tasks according to the initial project plan;
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, test and customersite startup of complex control, information, process, and automation systems working in a project team environment.
  • Followup of the engineering team during all the project lifecycle, ensuring execution control within the planned costs and timeline.
  • Raises and presents technical risks at any stage of the project, leaving the Engineering and/or business Managers advised on time.
  • Closes all projects with the required contractual documentation.
II) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


FUNCTIONAL

  • Frequently leads the design, implementation, test and startup phases of complex systems projects.
  • Works with Project Manager to plan and schedule project activities.
  • Works with Engineering manager to plan and schedule resources.
  • Works with Project Admin to support the project financial plan.
  • May participate in detailed system implementation and startup.
  • Detailed knowledge of specific industry codes and standards.

LEADERSHIP

  • Leads requirements definition, system conceptualization and design efforts for complex system projects.
  • May lead contractors on project assignments.
  • Participates in industry standards committees or organizations.
  • Deal with Customers with excellent technical level and give them confidence that we really know what we are doing about technical stuff.

INTERPERSONAL

  • Supports an environment conducive to customer satisfaction.
  • Often serves as the lead engineering interface with customer for assigned projects.
  • Supports an environment conducive to successful team interaction.
  • Able to work in multiple projects at same time
  • Able and willing to travel and work at customer sites (up to 50%), including industrial plants which may require climbing, working in confined spaces and other unusual work environments.

BUSINESS

  • Responsible for meeting project schedule, budgeted hours, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Builds partnerships at technical level of key customers.
  • Conceptualizes the technical solution and provide engineering hours estimates for sales proposals.
  • Presents technical aspect of sales proposals to customers.
  • Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
III) EDUCATION BACKGROUND

  • BS in Engineering or information technology discipline or equivalent knowledge; further education in engineering is a plus.
  • Holding technical certifications for Engineering/Information area (e.g. TÜV FSEng, Microsoft, CISCO etc.) desirable
  • Project management certificate desirable
IV) LANGUAGE

  • Intermediate English (mandatory);
  • Advanced English (desirable);
V) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 8 years in the job or related areas.
