    We are seeking a talented software engineer to lead the UI Engineering team. This position offers an opportunity to work on high profile projects that will significantly contribute to the growth of Simcorp's businesses as well as build your personal knowledge of a wide variety of financial products.

    The team consists of engineers in Buenos Aires working on the web front end of a cloud based risk analytics engine that works on equities, fixed income, and multi-asset instruments. The web front end uses a common library also used in many of Simcorp's internal tooling.

    We are looking for a leader to provide mentorship to the team as well as ensure they are working effectively towards delivering their goals. The leader will have the ability to drive the team to deliver code quality and foundational improvements while delivering robust, cloud-native solutions to meet evolving business requirements. They must be hands-on, detail-oriented, self-starting and delivery-focused with an enthusiasm for learning new cloud technologies.

    Responsibilities

  • Line manage a team of engineers working in a hybrid model.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Plan and prioritize through interaction with business stakeholders including Product, UX Design, and Customer Experience to ensure our solutions meet our customer needs.
  • Design solutions that can be used across multiple web site in different use cases
  • Collaborate and encourage collaboration with other teams across the organization in our guilds, sprint reviews or knowledge sharing sessions to ensure Simcorp has a vibrant engineering culture

    • Requirements

    The role will require knowledge and experience across the following:

  • 3+ years experience managing Agile engineering teams or a demonstrated track record of leading projects without direct management responsibilities
  • 5+ years of experience in Javascript and Typescript.
  • Experience with front end frameworks including Angular, or React is required.
  • Experience with Agile software development practices, JIRA, Github and SonarQube
  • A motivated leader with confident communication skills and empathy.
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies
  • 3+ years building software with test automation in mind

    • Preferred:

  • Experience of financial markets and products
  • Experience with graphing libraries like D3 or Hot Charts.
  • Github Actions experience
  • Storybook experience
  • Familiarity with Azure and Azure cloud native technologies
  • Experience working in an environment following Continuous Delivery best practices
  • A dev-ops application ownership mindset
