- Provide expertise and guidance in the development and/or modification of computer-based scientific, technical, and business software systems.
- Utilize expertise to design, develop, code, test, and debug software, ensuring its functionality and security.

- Plan and schedule new application systems projects, identifying objectives, time frames, costs, and manpower requirements.

- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, independently determining and developing approaches to solutions.
- Level 3: Requires 5 to 8 years with BS/BA - or 3 to 5 years with MS/MA - or 0 to 2 years with PhD.
- Experience in developing and modifying computer-based software systems, with expertise in areas such as equipment or software design, engineering evaluation, or statistical analysis and modeling.
- Proficiency in software development processes, including design, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide technical advice and support during the development lifecycle.
- Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and coordination.
- Knowledge of software safety and systems safety principles, including hazard identification and mitigation.
- Experience in reviewing systems and software for compliance with relevant directives, standards, and guidelines.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
- Possession of an active TS/SCI clearance.
