- Responsible for accurately and efficiently handling customs declarations for import, export, and transit activities
- Ensure strict compliance with customs laws and regulations, including staying updated on any changes and translating them into operational practices
- Communicate with customs authorities, shipping lines, airlines, and other relevant parties to resolve any customs queries, issues, and inspections
- Provide advice to internal stakeholders and clients on customs regulations, trade restrictions, and potential customs duties
- Process customs documentation and ensure accurate capture of all relevant data
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement of our customs processes and implementation of efficiency enhancements
- Talking, hearing and using hands to operate computer equipment
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Customs Clearance within a freight forwarding or logistics company
- Extensive knowledge of customs laws, procedures, and trade restrictions
- Experience with customs declaration systems and software
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills in, both verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proactive and results-oriented attitude with a strong team spirit
- In-depth knowledge of AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) concepts, processes, and requirements
- Experience in preparing AEO certification applications and supporting documentation
- Familiarity with AEO audits and assessments
- Strong understanding of the benefits and obligations associated with AEO status
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Customs Clearance within a freight forwarding or logistics company
- Professional certification may be required in some areas
