The Team

The Data Transformation team is responsible for driving key automation projects, machine learning based solutions and lean initiatives across S&P Global Market Intelligence.

We are responsible for creating, planning and delivering transformational projects for the company using state of the art technologies and data science methods, developed either in house or in partnership with vendors.

We are transforming the way we are collecting the essential intelligence our clients need to do decision with conviction, delivering it faster and at scale while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Data Transformation has three major functions – Cognitive Automation, RPA and Data Management.

The Impact

This role will be part of Cognitive Automation and will be a Lead for its Data Science team.

This team has already delivered new breakthrough products and phenomenal efficiencies to the business.

In this role you will be working on the next generation of new products while enhancing existing ones and help to continue drive efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks.

  • Responsibilities

  • Develop project plans, analyze, interpret project requirements and lead an end to end execution of the project.

  • Mentor Junior Data Scientist and Cognitive Automation Associates.

  • Actively contributing to the development of our framework and projects.

  • Engage with business leads and peers, interfaces with senior leaders across the organization.

  • Builds strong internal and external relationships and ensures service quality and customer satisfaction

  • Pushing the team and yourself to stay up to date to the latest technology and machine learning trend that can be applied to our projects.

  • Build, synthesize and present strategic insights and recommendation to the senior stakeholders and ensure continuous communication with the project stakeholders.

  • Partner with IT and Scrum Teams to integrate the models developed by the team.

  • Established machine learning and data science skills with a proven track record of leadership of talents and projects.

  • Passion for understanding, learning and identifying the latest technology trends and machine learning based solutions.

  • Ability to understand what the right solution is for all type of problem, understanding the ultimate value of each project.

  • Ability to independently yet transparently drive initiatives and function with minimal supervision.

  • Openness to continuously learn, upskill and contribute to building solutions firsthand if necessary.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with the key stakeholders to work towards generating the value for the organization.

  • Open-minded professional enjoying and used to work in a multicultural company.

  • Interest in delivering value first and above anything else, including when some project may not require AI. Adding intelligence only when it is needed and not focusing on applying AI at the cost of value or faster delivery.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Data Science Team leading experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in applied Machine Learning.

  • 8+ years of programming experience.

  • Advanced Python and Pandas is mandatory.

  • Advanced Deep Learning level. Knowledge of Pytorch, Tensorflow, Fast.ai frameworks.

  • Knowledge of AWS, Vaadin, Databricks, Julia or Snowflake are nice to have.

  • Demonstrable deep personal interest in DataScience and AI (personal projects, Kaggle notebook/medals, Github repos).

  • Other certificates and demonstrable track of continuous self-learning is valued.

  • Excellent communication in English.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or Actuary preferred
